Why it helps

Turn what you already have into three practical dinner options.

What you get

  • Main resource (md)
  • Supporting usage or host metadata (yaml)

How to use it

Install SKILL.md only in a host that supports native skills. Otherwise attach it or paste its instructions into a dedicated conversation and use the example request. Native installation support varies; no automatic persistence is included.

Have ready

  • available ingredients
  • servings
  • time
  • dietary restrictions

Provider badges mean the written procedure is usable as chat guidance. Native installation and tool availability must be checked in the actual host.

Your small win

Dinner sorted

Three practical dinner ideas from what you already have, then a full recipe for the one you pick.

Have ready

  • A quick list of the ingredients you have
  • How many people and how much time you have
  • Any allergies or foods to avoid

Choose your AI tool

  1. 1Download the free ZIP and unzip it. Open SKILL.md in a text editor.
  2. 2Open a new chat in ChatGPT.
  3. 3Paste the contents of SKILL.md into the chat, then add your own details — like the first request below — and send. If your ChatGPT plan and app show a file attachment option, you can attach the single instruction file instead of pasting it. Don't upload the ZIP itself.

This beginner path uses SKILL.md as instructions in a normal chat. It doesn't install a skill, and a new chat won't remember it — paste it again next time.

Your first request

Send this after the instructions, with your own details filled in.

I have [your ingredients]. Help me make dinner for [number of people] in [minutes] minutes. Avoid: [allergies or dislikes, or 'nothing'].

Illustrative example — your result will vary

Example request

I have rice, beans, tomatoes, and eggs. Help me make dinner for two in 25 minutes.

Example result

Assuming the rice is already cooked and the beans are canned or cooked (raw rice can take longer than 25 minutes).

Three options (about 25 minutes each):

  1. Tomato egg fried rice — rice, eggs, tomatoes.
  2. Bean and tomato skillet with eggs — beans, tomatoes, eggs; rice on the side.
  3. Rice and bean bowls with quick tomato salsa — rice, beans, tomatoes; egg on top.

Optional pantry items (please confirm): oil, salt.

You chose option 2. Ingredients for two:

  • 2 cups (about 300 g) cooked rice
  • 1 can (about 400 g) beans, drained, or 1½ cups cooked beans
  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • Optional: 1 tbsp oil and a pinch of salt

Steps:

  1. Warm the rice.
  2. Cook the tomatoes in a pan for 5 minutes — in 1 tbsp oil, or with 2–3 tbsp water if you have no oil.
  3. Add the beans and simmer 8 minutes; season with salt if you have it.
  4. Make 2 wells, crack in the eggs, cover and cook until fully set.
  5. Serve over the rice.

A useful result has

  • ☐ Three options that use your ingredients
  • ☐ Any assumed pantry items are labelled, not taken for granted
  • ☐ A chosen recipe scaled to your servings with numbered steps
  • ☐ Your allergies or restrictions are respected (always check labels yourself)
